720 at a great price
Reviewed by Scott T from Livingston on 10/18/2007 12:49 pm
Did some searching around on the net and found this site to be the best value and the live online support was a huge help in me finding what I needed. Most other sites I looked at were not authorized dealers and sold all sorts of other electronics, they did not specialize in gps and could not help me at all.

Excellent Unit - Does What the Write-Ups Say it Does
Reviewed by Phantom from SouthWest, Mississippi on 10/15/2007 07:56 pm
Recommended. Easy for a Novice like me to setup and configure. Lack of U. S. Manual was offset by downloading the U. K. Manual - Most of the explanations of features were close enough to be understood.
Even in my rural area of Mississippi, most of the road names, directions and POI entries were right on.

Tomtom 720 Review
Reviewed by Mark from Chicago on 10/10/2007 02:32 pm
I have always owned a garmin gps unit and have been very happy with the garmin brand. I was planning on getting another garmin gps unit, but when looking around I came across this tomtom go 720 gps unit. I was not sure about the tomtom brand but figured that I would give them a chance as this unit had all the features I was looking for and of course at the right price. I can honestly say I am very happy with my tomtom 720 and glad I was able to save some money. I think the best thing about the tomtoms is the mapshare and the text to speech is very good. I think tomtom just found a new promoter of their products. Go tomtom 720.

I replaced my old tomtom 700 with this newer tomtom 720 go. Wow what a difference a few years can make. Very bright screen and not to mention the mapshare feature is too cool. I am a tomtom customer for life.

My New TomTom 720
Reviewed by R man from CA on 09/18/2007 04:09 pm
After using the TomTom Go 720 going home and coming to work this morning. I was pleasantly surprised with this new release from TomTom.
The unit has a great sleek modern attractive design and the packaging was also very nice. They should have included a protective case for such a nice unit. I think it's going to fly off the shelves all over this 4th quarter. Garmin and Magellan better watch out.
I played with it a little bit at home last night and browed the map to Oakland and San Francisco and was pleasantly surprised to find building footprints in those cities. I also saw that when driving past San Jose this morning. Very cool new look.
I updated my TomTom Home from v1.5 to the v2 on my laptop for the Go 720. I have to use another new email for a new logon since TomTom Home would not allow me to use my last user name if it was within 6 month after signing up the TomTom Home. I think I have now used various user name/pw for TomTom Go 910, One, One XL and the Go 720. It's a little pain in the neck to keep track of all the User names/Passwords but it works.
I then made four Map/POI corrections using Map Share on the Go 720 and uploaded to TomTom using the TomTom Home application.
I corrected:
1. Ash St. is not a thru street when crossing Page Mill Road. I simply change the green Westbound and Green Eastbound sign to red. An easy change.
2. I added Auto Nav 2000 Plus Palo Alto to Shop category under POI.
3. I added Auto Nav 2000 Plus San Jose to Shop category under POI.
4. The only Auto Nav 2000 I could find preloaded on the Go 720 is Auto Nav 2000 Plus II in Cupertino with an incorrect phone number so I corrected the name to Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc. and also corrected the phone number.
So far so good and the Map Share user experience is much better than I had expected. I think TomTom did a great job there. Now, I am curious how long it will take for TomTom to verify or approve and then allow other users to download that corrected information.
