After 6 months of use...
Reviewed by Chuck from Buffalo, NY on 06/17/2008 04:53 am
I found the screen to go unresponsize when exposed to heat. For instance, today the unit was in an AC cooled car on the passenger seat screen up and in sunlight for about 30 minutes. Screen was unresponize until held up to the AC vent for 1 minute. Also found this to happen in the winter when the defroster was used.
The Mapping system is awful. I've had it add hours to a trip. San Antonio, TX to McAllen, TX is a 4.5 hour trip. This unit wanted me to go on a 9 hour one. Also, Buffalo, NY to North Michigan - rather than go through Canada and save 4 hours it wanted me to around the lakes to the south. Thankfully my phone had google map access. Once in Canada the unit figured out the route.
Point of Interest are a joke, I've followed it to to stores, banks and gas stations that do not exist and appear never had to been where the GPS thinks it is.
Little to no support from the manufacturer. No firmware, map or POI updates since June 07?
I'm looking at a TOM TOM to see if its any better, I use GPS units due to travel for work4 to 5 days a week.

Beats the nuvi in features with alot less pricetag!

I recently got my 3250 here at just $299.00. Bluetooth works excellent with call quality well above what I expected for the price. The traffic lets you know in advance of accidents, construction, severe weather, etc. Voice directions with street names spoken is easily heard and the unit is stylish, small, and very lightweight. The windshield mount works perfect. the only down side is lack of a thorough manual, not that you need one, because it is easy to figure out all the features on the 3250
