Excellent reception and accuracy. Easy to use, big buttons usefull whle driving. No complaints - durable and reliable. Text to speach fuction announces next moves by naming streets, highway names.

I have used Hertz Neverlost with car rentals for years, finally decided to get my own. I travel extently through out the US. The 6000T is even better than Hertz Neverlost. Just be sure to get external attenna. If you do not, depending on the model of your vehicle you may lose signal on rare occasions.

I have now been using my third 6000T for almost two months with no incidents. Maybe the new firmware really did help. Thank you to AutoNavDirect for arranging for the Magellan Customer Service Manager to replace it once again. All of my calls fell on deaf ears in the Magellan overseas tech service system.

My first GPS system and I love it. I have tried to trick this thing so many times by making u-turns, going against what it says and it immediately re-calculates route every time. Love the split screen 3D feature. Really, no complaints. It's very, very accurate and I live in NYC that has a lot of obstacles and it hasn't made one mistake. No more getting lost (which I'm famous for)....Very good buy....

Although I hesitated to surrender a working portion of my brain in favor of a GPS, I have quickly grown to trust my 6000T to get me where I need to go. And it took me less than five minutes to figure out how to work it.
Minor complaints: sometimes you just don't have the exact address of where you need to go, and the POIs offer up some bizarre suggestions. Also, it seems to need to be "reset" often, and if you don't happen to have a bendable paper clip in your car you're in trouble. For $600+, shouldn't the unit either a) not need frequent resetting, or b) come with some sort of attached "resetting tool"?

I love the interface and accuracy of the 6000T and recommended that my daughter and best friend buy the 3000T. Now I am disappointed in Magellan and ready to buy another brand. The first 6000T lost the ability to retain any user data after less than two months. After a long and difficult call to Tech Support they replaced it. Now a month later this one failed in the same way. I am asking Magellan (not AutoNavDirect)for my money back.

I recommend this 6000t to anyone who is looking for a gps unit to move from car to car. Really makes roadtrips alot easier and no more mapquest print outs that take me the long way.

Wow I can not say enough about this model that I bought. I really thought that I was going to have to spend over 1000 dollars on a good gps unit since the upgrage for my car was like 2500 at the dealer. I was shocked on the price of this unit and all that it does. Used it on a roadtrip and the weather was soo bad I could not see where the side roads where and I would have missed my turn if it was not for the magellan gps unit. I would have paid alot more for this unit, thats how much it has helped me out.

I found that the magellan roadmate 6000t is the best bang for your buck. I looked at tomtom and garmin and found that the magellan was a great value. You would think that you would be giving something up when you get a unit for less money, but that is not the case at all with the new magellan 6000t. I am very happy with my unit and recommend this to anyone.

Best Portable Automobile GPS on the Market

I have had the Magellan 6000T now for 2 months and I can't imagine traveling without it. I have traveled for 19 years and made more U-turns than I can shake a stick at.
This system has it all... Blue tooth, spoken street names, easy to navigate touch screen, extremely bright screen (automatically darkens at dusk).
This system gives you more heads up about upcoming turns than any other system on the market. For instance, it will let you of a turn two miles ahead, then one mile, then 0.5 mile. Then it has a 0.2 mile yellow bar graph that shrinks as you come to your turn.
I am very glad I got this system with the spoken street names. It gives you that much more information while you are in unfamiliar territory. The street name voice is a different voice from the turn by turn voice. The street name voice has more of an edge which helps you listen easier to the street name.
It has locked up about 4 times (what high tech electronic gadget never locks up) but it was easy to reboot the system.
One of the best features is the traffic alert. I was in Charlotte, NC which I was unfamiliar with driving during rush hour to the other side of town for a meeting. After I left the hotel, it was directing me turn by turn to the Interstate. While sitting at a red light, I happened to notice it flash "I-85 accident" and then it recalculated the route. I couldn't believe it when I got to the interstate, it had brought me to the entrance ramp just ahead of where all three lanes were blocked because of the wreck!!!!! I was very impressed!
It also gives you four options for choosing your route which is twice as many as any other system.
I did a lot of research looking at the Garmin systems and Tom Tom. I printed out at least half a ream of paper of specifications and customer comments. The more I looked at Magellan, the more I realized it was the best value. I'm sure Garmins are good and they will work, but the Magellan 6000T matched their highest priced Nuvi systems feature for feature and was significantly cheaper.
It is easily portable and easily attaches and detaches to the mount. In the rental cars, I can easily mount it on the windshield. I have never had a problem with the suction mount.
On my Chrysler 300 company car, I use the flat disk and mount the system on the dashboard with no problems.
I do not regret my purchase at all.
If you travel, you need to seriously look at getting a portable GPS system. I would strongly recommend the Magellan 6000T.
It will be analogous to life before and after a microwave.

Got the 6000T instead of 860T

I came to AutoNavDirect looking to buy the Magellan Roadmate 860T. When I called to ask a few questions about the 860T a sales Rep suggested I take a look at the New Magellan Roadmate 6000T. I had no idea that this model was even out and after comparing them it was a no brainer to go for this 6000T. Has all the same features as the 860T and more, plus it was for a GREAT price. Not that looks matters all that much when it comes to a GPS unit, but I really liked the design of the 6000T over the 860T. I love the unit and thanks AutoNavDirect for informing me of this Great New unit.

The latest GPS from Magellan

I have been using Magellan GPS for over 5 years now and recently sold my Magellan GPS with my old car. It was installed in the car so not easily removable so I reluctantly sold it and the buyer wanted a GPS anyways. I found this latest portable GPS on Magellan's website and ordered it right away from the folks sold me my first GPS years ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how user friendly this new GPS is compared to my old one but many features and even the lady's familiar voice still remind me of my old GPS. I have used it for about 3 weeks now including a long trip over Labor Day holiday visiting the kids and I am very happy with this new GPS. The touch screen, bright and large display, clear map and clear voice directions are all great and much better than my old GPS. This portable GPS is a keeper even after I sell my next car. Not sure if I will even use the bluetooth, traffic or the picture thing but the GPS sure works great. The map and points of interest are very good and much better than my old GPS. I recommend this Magellan GPS.

Magellan's response to Garmin and TomTom

I am an Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc. employee. I have the luxury of testing this brand new Magellan RoadMate 6000T GPS system. I don't know about the durability of the product yet, but the looks and feel of the unit feels very solid and I rated a four out of five.
All I can say is Magellan is back with a vengeance, and now they are competing on the same level as the Garmin StreetPilot C550 series and the TomTom Go 910.
The MRM 6000T unit has it all. You need Text-To-Speech? Got it. You want TMC RDS traffic information? Yes, it comes with it. Want Bluetooth hands free cell phone capabilities? It’s included. Don't like to wait for the GPS to acquire? This unit includes the latest SiRF star III GPS receiver and the acquisition time is minimal and on par with the Garmin and TomTom. Need a MP3 music player and picture viewer? Included!
Like the Quick Spell and smart detour feature found in the prior Magellan Nav products, the MRM 6000T is the only unit that comes with the Quick Spell and the smart detour. Neither TomTom nor Garmin have these features.
Want a brighter screen and better audio quality? Done!
This unit is on par with the TomTom Go 910 and Garmin StreetPilot C550 if not better. There are some specific features that are unique only to the Magellan product that is not offered on the TomTom or Garmin.
All I can say is that it’s about time Magellan made available a GREAT GPS product that is state of the art and has everything and more. Great Job Magellan!
Did I include the sale price? It is $100 less than the Garmin and TomTom unit, Oh what a BARGIN for such a great GPS system!
