Aceeptable Performance

Yes... this unit will get you where you need to go, just try all the options before setting the trip. I took a trip from IN to NY, (shortest time) and the first time it took me 1 1/2 hours out of the way. When I googled the directions and went that way instead, it took me 1 1/2 hours less. The second time I wen to NY I just started driving back the same way I came home and then turned on the magellan, using shortest time again. This time it took me 15 min more because it took me out of the way 3 times, even though it was the SAME ROAD! On the way home I tried shortest distance, then shortest time as I neared areas I was familiar with. This seemed to help. Called magellan and they say they don't know what the issue is.

Peace of mind

I bought this Magellan 2000 for my daughter and could not be happier with it. It has all the features that she needs and even better it was at a very reasonable price. Now there is no reason for her to get lost and end up in a bad area asking for directions. Its about time they came out with a unit that everyone can afford.
Thanks

The best GPS for me!
Reviewed by Bernard from San Francisco, CA on 09/14/2006 06:03 pm
Since everybody seem to be jumping on the GPS bandwagon, I thought I better look into it too. My requirements are very basic, a good working system that will take me to each of my daily destinations (I'm in the Delivery business) and fits my budget of <$400. I looked at the Garmin i5 awhile back and decided against it because of its small screen size and no touchscreen. A friend who has an i5 complainted that it would loose satellite lock while driving in the Financial District amongst highrises. I just received the RoadMate 2000 I ordered and I'm so glad I waited. The touchscreen display is so nice and clear, it is so easy to use. I was able to route to all 8 of my destinations today and it has worked flawlessly even in the Financial District. I guess no more reading maps from now on. The best part is that it fits nicely in my pocket so I could easily take it with me when I leave the vehicle unattended.
