Please be aware of the following risks if you purchase GPS navigation products from an unauthorized Magellan reseller:
Possible exclusion of GPS factory warranty due to:
- Purchase of stolen merchandise
- Inability to validate the original purchase date and ownership with the original sales receipt AND the transfer of ownership with any subsequent bill of sale
- Item shipped to you may be counterfeit, forged, or refurbished, demostration units sold as new.
- Item may ship with serial numbers removed
- Item may appear new but contain internal water damage or damage from improper use
- Item may never ship – contact with the seller may be difficult or impossible using the Internet.
- Inferior product maybe substituted for the advertised GPS navigation products.
- Maynot qualify for map or firmware update
- Unit maybe ship with missing accessories that is normally included with the sale of the unit such as AC power supply, USB cables, protective pouch
- Unit maybe ship with outdated map software
- Unit maybe from an open box returns, overstock outdated inventory or demo units sold as new at a discounted price
If you must buy from an unauthorized reseller, contact reseller for GPS unit serial numbers they will be shipping you prior to purchase. If they don’t cooperate with your request before the sale, consider what may happen if your unit is defective or missing components after the sale. Always check with the GPS manufacture to ensure the dealer you are purchasing the unit from is recognized as an authorized factory dealer in good standings with the GPS manufactures.
