Best money spent for update
Reviewed by Batman from Henderson, NV on 02/05/2008 08:07 pm
I am not big fan of new cheap GPS products, but I received a birthday gift from my wife and she bought me a new Magellan Maestro.
I loved the unit at first until I compared it side by side with my outdated Magellan RoadMate 760 and found my old Magellan Roadmate have much easier user interface or I may simply just be used to it, and can find points of interest much better than the new Maestro unit, better yet the route the new Maestro gave me didn't make any sense and took me way out of the way when my Magellan 760 took me the most direct route.
I was going to order the new Map software update from Magellan but been reading some really bad press on their customer service and I was unable to find someone that will load the map software for me, I own a MAC.
So I was extremely delighted to find Auto Nav the company I originally purchased the Magellan RoadMate from also offer the update service. They been around a very long time, my friend that purchased a Magellan Neverlost 750 from them before recommended me to this company.
I own a Mac and did not wish to deal with the map update, I spent a total of $129 plus actual shipping cost with Auto Nav and my wife was not happy but she took my new Maestro back. She was happy that it cost her less for my birthday gift.
Best money we ever spent, my RoadMate is now up to date and as good or better than the Maestro I had and I only spent $129 for it.
I hate waste, and I guess you can say I did my part for the environment by recycling my $700 Magellan RoadMate 700 by simply updating the map instead of throwing it out.
