To activate your nuMaps Lifetime using the Product Key (You can reveal the Product Key by scratch off the hidden Product Key with a coin) on the back of the card. Do not do this via your myGarmin page.

1. Go to the link and log in using the User Name, Password and Product Key if you already have a myGarmin account and the GPS you wish to tie to this nuMaps Lifetime update is already registered in your myGarmin account.

2. If you do not have a myGarmin account, click on the “Create your free account” button on the right and create a new account at: “nüMaps Lifetime create new account”

Attention: This update is offered by Garmin, any issues customer may occur must be taken up with Garmin tech support. Most of the confussion with the Garmin map update is due to customer error of selecting the gift card map update page where it shows the retailers must activate the card, make sure you are going to the right page when activating your unit. How It Works
To use nüMaps Lifetime, all you need is your Garmin device, your computer and a USB cable. There are no monthly fees or continuing maintenance costs; you pay only once. When you want to update your maps, connect your device to your computer and log into your myGarmin account, where the latest map data is ready to load to your device. We’re constantly gathering new map data, and a new update is available up to four times per year. Sign up for our email notification, and we’ll email you when the newest data is available.

Product Compatibility:
This map update can only be used to update the preloaded maps that came installed on your Garmin device. For example, a Garmin GPS device preloaded with North America maps only cannot be updated with a nüMaps Lifetime Europe Map Update, and vice versa. Check product compatibility.

Download Times:
This map update may take up to several hours to download and is not for use with dial-up Internet access or Satellite Internet Providers. Actual download speeds may vary.

Coverage:
This map update can only be used to update the preloaded maps that came installed on your Garmin device. nüMaps Lifetime gives nüvi 200 and 205 series owners access to full coverage North America maps (coverage of Mexico not included).

Terms and Limitations:
nüMaps™ Lifetime. If you purchase a nüMaps Lifetime subscription (sold separately), you will receive up to four (4) map Data updates per year, when and as such updates are made available on Garmin’s website, for one (1) compatible Garmin product until your product’s useful life expires or Garmin no longer receives map Data from NAVTEQ, whichever is shorter. The updates you receive under the subscription will be updates to the same map Data originally included with your Garmin product when originally purchased, or updates to map Data that you purchased separately (if applicable). If your Garmin product does not include, or you do not purchase separately, the map Data you want to update using your nüMaps Lifetime subscription, then you must purchase the map Data separately before you can load the updated map Data onto your Garmin product. In some instances, your Garmin product might not have sufficient memory remaining for you to load an update to the same map Data originally included with your Garmin product (or purchased separately, as the case may be), in which case you will need to select reduced map Data coverage for your updates. Garmin may terminate your nüMaps Lifetime subscription at any time if you violate any of the terms of this Agreement. Your nüMaps Lifetime subscription may not be transferred to another person or another Garmin product.

They didn't ship when they said they did and had a hard time tracking it, had to cancell c.c. just big hassel and we were not able to go on your tirp with the updated maps because they messed up. Ive read many reviews on this site and sounded like AutoNav did a good job shipping items out fast. Sure enough when I got back from the trip I ordered the update here and got it in two days. Auto Nav is definetly the way to go and they are Garmin Direct Dealers.

If you follow the instructions on the back of the card and then follow the on screen prompts, it will install easily. Be prepared, however. It does take a long time. The download took me almost four hours; and this is with a DSL high speed connection. After download, you have to extract the files and install them onto your GPS. This took another two hours. However, the wait is worth it. There are some new streets in our small Southern Arizona community that were just built (within the last few months). These streets are already in the database for this update. Amazing. I would highly recommend this update for anyone. Just be sure to check the website for compatibility for your unit. Considering annual updates cost as much as $69.95, this item will pay for itself in less than two years. A must have if you do any traveling. I don't even take a map with me anymore. My Garmin Nuvi leads me to addresses that other (cheapie) units don't have in their data bases

I ordred my update from them and they took forever to get me my update and worse thing is they sent me a onetime use update, not the lifetime update. I do want to let you know I have two garmin units and bought the first lifetime update at amazon, what a mess that was. The super saving shipping is not worth it at all as it took almost 13 days to get the update. I bought the second map update from autonavdirect.com and got the item in 3 days which was outstanding. I highly recommend you get your map update from these guys and do not waste your time with amazon and their third party sellers who are not garmin authorized dealers, it will save you a waste of time trust me.

We find the unit itself is very easy to use. Our problem is we used our fee update 18 months ago and it did not include much of the new road construction around us. We also found that the changing face of our city had many new, moved and closed businesses and our Points of Interest were also out of date. An update was imminent and it was going to cost us this time. I saw on the lifetime map updates on the Garmin site and thought I might find a bit better deal and that brought me here where they had a great deal.

The original maps that came with my Garmin had the correct addresses, but the update seems to have put many points of interest at incorrect locations. Another thing to be aware of is that Garmin will not transfer the "lifetime" updates to a replacement unit. My GPS was stolen about a month after I purchased the update package and Garmin customer support's answer was too bad, buy another. A few key strokes in their database and I would still be a loyal Garmin customer, but their products just aren't that amazing on their own.
